# Shaping the Future: Career Opportunities at Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (KLK)
With a legacy spanning over 110 years, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (KLK) has evolved from its humble beginnings as a plantation enterprise into a global industry powerhouse. While palm oil cultivation remains the cornerstone of its operations, the company’s strategic trajectory has consistently focused on sustainable growth, vertical integration, and diversification.
## A Legacy of Growth and Global Diversification
KLK’s influence is anchored by its expansive plantation footprint, which now covers over 213,000 hectares across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Liberia. Since the 1990s, the group has successfully transitioned into a major player in resource-based manufacturing. By venturing into oleochemicals and specialty chemicals, KLK has integrated its upstream plantation success with high-value downstream production. Today, the group maintains a robust international presence with manufacturing operations across Europe, China, and Southeast Asia.
Beyond agribusiness, the group has leveraged its strategic land reserves in Peninsular Malaysia to become a notable name in property development. Currently, KLK is in a phase of aggressive consolidation, positioning itself for long-term expansion and future industrial breakthroughs.
