Role Overview
As a Safety Officer for our geothermal projects, you will be instrumental in upholding stringent safety protocols and fostering a culture of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) excellence. Your proactive approach will ensure all operations meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements, protecting our personnel, assets, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties in this vital role will include:
* Documentation Management: Preparing comprehensive Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Task Risk Assessment (TRA) documents before the commencement of any work activity.
* Equipment Verification: Conducting thorough inspections of work equipment, including meticulous checks of certification competences and validity periods.
* Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Compliance: Ensuring all personnel are equipped with and correctly utilize complete and appropriate PPE for their respective tasks.
* Permit to Work (PTW) System: Preparing and submitting accurate Permit to Work (PTW) documents as required.
* Gas Measurement: Performing critical Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S) gas measurements before the initiation of work to mitigate potential hazards.
* Safety Leadership: Leading engaging and informative Pre-Job Safety (PJS) meetings to brief teams on potential risks and safety measures.
* Operational Oversight: Supervising the execution of work to ensure strict adherence to all established Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
* Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all HSE activities conducted in the field.
* Work Completion Procedures: Facilitating the proper closure of PTW documents upon the successful completion of work.
* Reporting: Preparing insightful HSE performance reports to inform management and drive continuous improvement.
* Training & Awareness: Developing and delivering effective HSE training and awareness programs for field workers to enhance safety knowledge and practices.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this critical role, candidates must demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:
* Documentation Expertise: Proven ability to prepare both Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Determining Control (HIRADC) documents.
* Specialized Training: Successful completion of SIKA training.
* PTW System Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding and practical capability in developing and implementing Pertamina Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
* Industry Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Safety Officer within the oil and gas industry, with particular emphasis on oil well operations.
* Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated capability in conducting H₂S gas measurements.
* Mandatory Certification: Possession of a valid Oil & Gas HSE Certification is compulsory.
* Project Experience (Advantageous): Prior experience in Pertamina Geothermal Energy projects will be a distinct advantage.
